Thanks for your interest in joining GLCCSHRM!   There are many benefits you can expect by joining your local chapter including, but not limited to, access to the following: 

o HR professionals and companies throughout the greater Lorain County and surrounding areas. This helps you create a network for you to tap into when gathering information on how other local organizations handle various human resource situations, procedures, policies, etc. 

o Local professional development opportunities to improve your HR competencies and advance yourself professionally 

o Up-to-date information on pending federal and state legislation that may impact your company’s operations. 

o HR generalists and specialists who provide information that might otherwise be difficult and/or expensive to obtain. 

o Relationships and contacts with other local companies. 

o Contemporary, successful practices to make your organization more efficient, increase employee commitment, and help managers carry out business strategies. 

o Detailed, updated information on state and local labor market conditions and issues. 

o The opportunity to obtain HRCI recertification credits for attending qualifying chapter programming. 

o Leadership skills and development opportunities. 

o The opportunity to volunteer on a committee and/or as a Board member for the chapter which enhances your personal and professional skill set. 

GLCC SHRM Membership Instructions – 

The Greater Lorain County SHRM Chapter (GLCC SHRM) uses an online system called MightEvent for all membership renewals and new membership applications.  The system is easy-to-use, accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

Instructions for using the new online registration system. 

For existing GLCC SHRM Members wishing to renew

1. Follow this LINK to access GLCC SHRM’s e-commerce page 

2. Enter your username (your email address) The system will acknowledge you by first name when logged into the MightEvent System. You should see a welcome message on the top left corner of the screen. Use the “Forgot password” option if necessary. 

3. Once in the system, click on MEMBERSHIP tab and follow the steps to complete your purchase. 

For NEW/PROSPECTIVE GLCC SHRM Members wishing to join the chapter BUT HAVE AN ACCOUNT in GLCC SHRM. You may have an account in the system if you have been a guest at a luncheon. 

1. Follow this LINK to access GLCC SHRM’s e-commerce page 

2. Enter your username (your email address) The system will acknowledge you by first name when logged into the MightEvent System. You should see a welcome message on the top left corner of the screen. 

3. Use the “Forgot password” option if necessary. 

4. Once in the system – click on the MEMBERSHIP tab and select the appropriate membership option. 

5. Complete the fields and submit. Finish the payment process and the application process is finished. 

At this point – the GLCC SHRM Membership team takes over the review and approval process. 

For NEW/PROSPECTIVE GLCC SHRM Members wishing to join the chapter and are brand new to the ecommerce system

1. Use this LINK to take you to the membership options available as a member of the GLCC SHRM Chapter. 

2. The system will ask you for some quick demographic information related to billing. 

3. Based on the type of membership selected, the system will then offer you a specific online application. Complete the application and submit.  

4. Finish the payment process and the application process is finished. 

 At this point – the GLCC SHRM Membership team takes over the review and approval process.
